Yes! Our beautifully remodeled restaurant and bar are 100% open to the public. You don't need a tee time to enjoy our waterfront patio, craft cocktails, or famous Friday night perch dinner. We are a premier destination for "golf-optional" social visits and lakeside dining.
Yes. We are a full-service event venue specializing in weddings, charity golf outings, bachelor/bachelorette golf parties, bridal/baby showers, funeral luncheons, and graduation parties. With a scenic clubhouse backdrop and professional catering, we provide a high-end experience for any private celebration.
To comply with Michigan state liquor laws and maintain our licensed facility, no outside alcohol or coolers are permitted. All beverages must be purchased from our bar. Bringing outside alcohol may result in confiscation and/or removal from the course.
Yes, during our busy days, and during leagues and outings. You also may get food and drink from the clubhouse, and delivered to you on course.

Course Logistics
While we welcome walk-ins, we highly suggest booking online to secure your preferred time. Our online portal is the fastest way to view live availability for the 2026 season.
During the peak season, our first tee time is generally at 7:00 a.m., seven days a week. We recommend booking early to enjoy the calmest winds and the best sunrise views over the lake.
Our course is designed to be a "kind yet challenging" test of golf. While ratings vary by tee box, Huron Shores offers a fair challenge that rewards strategic play and accurate second shots, making it perfect for consistent improvement.
We make every effort to maintain the practice green at a speed and cut consistent with the course greens that week. It is the perfect place to get a feel for the day’s pace before your round starts.
The biggest mistake players make is underestimating the Lake Huron breeze. It can often change your club selection by two clubs in a single hole! Additionally, don't just "grip it and rip it"—our mature hardwoods reward those who play for position rather than pure distance.
Yes, we provide well-maintained comfort stations accessible during your round to ensure a comfortable experience for all guests.
Our cancellation policy typically requires you to notify the Pro Shop at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a charge to the credit card used to guarantee your booking. Regarding weather, a rain check is issued only if the course is officially closed by management due to unsafe (lightning) or unplayable conditions. We do not issue rain checks for light rain or if you choose to abandon your round while the course remains open. The Pro Shop makes the final determination on course closure.

Our Par 3, Hole #9, is our iconic hole with drastic elevation changes, and a great risk/reward on the tee shot.

We believe golf should be fun, not intimidating, making us the perfect place to learn the game or enjoy a casual round with friends.
Absolutely! Huron Shores has a welcoming community where "there's never a stranger in the group." If you book as a single, our Pro Shop staff will happily pair you with an open group, which is a great way to meet new playing partners. If you prefer to play solo, we can get you out alone based on how busy or not the course is.
We maintain a "Resort Quality, Relaxed Atmosphere." While we encourage traditional golf attire (collared shirts), our primary focus is on a welcoming and comfortable experience for everyone.
Practice & Equipment
Yes! We offer full sets of rental clubs for both men and women. This is a perfect option for beginners who haven't purchased their own gear yet or for travelers visiting Port Sanilac who didn't want to transport their clubs.

No, Huron Shores is a walkable course, which many of our traditionalists love. However, for those who prefer to ride, we feature a fleet of Yamaha gas powered golf carts for a smooth and comfortable experience.
Leagues & Community
Absolutely. We host a variety of men’s, women’s, and senior golf leagues throughout the season, including the popular Duffer’s League. Our leagues are centered on community and camaraderie, providing a great way to meet local players and improve your game in a social setting. See Leagues Page.

Are golfers friendly and what if I don’t have a partner? Yes, we have a fantastic, welcoming community of golfers! If you book as a single, the Pro Shop staff will happily pair you with an open group. Leagues or charity outings also are great ways to meet regular playing partners.
